About me

I am a BACP registered counsellor and have been working within NHS and charity organisations for over 12 years. As a person, I am warm and caring.

I am thoughtful and always hold your wellbeing at the forefront of our work together. I am also reflective and this means that within our therapy, I may invite you to consider your thoughts, feelings and experiences in further detail, with the aim of supporting you to fully absorb the depth of your experience/s. I appreciate that some people may find this difficult or challenging and when this happens we will use the safety of our therapeutic relationship to understand the challenge and move through it together. This is something which can happen quite often and so it is important to note from early on that therapy is not a ‘walk in the park’. Psychological Therapy by nature is a process that seeks to identify and explore the difficulties. We will always do this with care and support you as we move forward with therapy at each step. This is a natural and key part of the therapy that I provide and is always completed with your consent, compassion and without judgement.

I have an eclectic array of interests that helps inform the therapy I offer and helps optimise a balanced approach to life. I love going for walks with my dog, Oreo, as well as resting which helps nourish me on a physical and spiritual level. I have multiple post-graduate clinical and research qualifications that continue to nourish my mind and professional development. This helps to keep me up to date with emerging information regarding clinical best practice in working with clients and the evidence-base that guides this.

Alongside my private practice, I am also employed by Devon Partnership Trust within the Perinatal Loss and Trauma Therapy Service where I provide psychological-based therapy to women/birthing people who have experienced pregnancy and/or baby loss or who may have experienced a trauma associated with the birth, ante-natal or post-natal context.
